I want to think or say something to myself that when I hear my alarm clock I am not think about the quickest way to hit the snooze button. I want to want to get up and make a difference and contribute to the world in meaningful ways. I just want to appreciate life more. I want to be more happy with what I have. I am very thankful for what I do have but it does not seem enough for some reason. Are there things I can do to show myself that I care about myself? I exercise 3 times a week and eat a good diet. I'm sick of self-help stuff advice. I just want to know what other people think. Any help?

  1. i think u should do what u've to do away from ur feelings and mind usualy they're big illusioners

  2. Love yourself like a friend

Close your eyes and think of a person you deeply love and trust, and who you know loves you-- a friend, a lover. Think about all the things you love and appreciate about them. Notice how that love feels inside you, how it makes you feel good.

Now turn it around the other way -- be your friend, feeling that same deep love for you. Trust in their love for you, and just feel it. Let yourself see your self through gentle eyes, with compassion and love the way your friend does, even if you can only do it for a moment. Now let yourself receive that love, the love you have as a friend to yourself. Feel the warmth move through you. Remember how it feels, and come back to that love another time.

Make a note every time someone says something nice about you.

Every time someone tells you something about yourself that makes you feel good, write it down or make a mental note and jot it down later. When you get home, put that note in a container of "good things about me." Decorate the container however you like. Keep on adding notes, and read them over every time you need a little boost -- and even when you don't feel like you do.

  3. ...go shopping, a world cruise...do it for yourself...enjoy...

  4. Discover your passion and you will have found your purpose.  There is no one way to contribute to the world.  We are only really good at WHAT we love so begin contemplating and seeking what you feel most passionate about.

  5. I find Yahoo! Answers brings out the worst in me and other people. Show yourself self-love and get the h**l outta Dodge.

  6. I think you should look in the mirror and look yourself straight in the eye and tell yourself that you love you. How can you not be in love with yourself with all the good deeds you have? You are blessed to be alive, you are in good health, and you want to care for the world. That alone should make you want to love yourself even more for being a good kind hearted person. Most people don't feel that way and just knowing what kind of person you are should put on big koolaid smile on your face everyday!! Stop being so down all the time because most of the people didn't wake up this morning asking how could they love themselves? So be thankful for that. Take care

  7. It is good that you want to help the world.  It needs all the help it can get.

-You should be happy that you are even alive when you awaken.

-You should be careful with wanting things, for that is going down a sinful path (greed).

*To get the most out of life, you should go out and help people.  Have you ever gotten that feeling of fulfillment when you help someone in need?  Even in the most trivial of matters, this feeling exists.  When you do something bad, is there any fulfillment?  I would think not.

++ Just go out and help someone, what's the harm?

  8. Some serious soul searching is in order here, the answer to your question must come from inside you,we all get a little fed up with ourselves from time to time, but don't go knocking yourself down, you seem grounded to me and i hope this feeling passes soon.

  9. Have you tried treating yourself to something nice? At least once a month I try to make time and do that. Sometimes it's just going to get a mani/ped or sometimes I purchase a book I've been wanting to read but couldn't fit into my budget. I also take time to go to second hand stores and browse for things I really want. A shirt, dress, pair of sandals or even a paper back book that I have been meaning to read. It's all about taking time for you.

  10. Respect yourself! Appreciate yourself and your health regadless of how you look and don't obssess about superficial things!
