  1. Making packages green and advertising that some of the money from the sold product will go to green research.  People will buy because they will want the prouct even more and they know they are helping the environment by buying the product.

  2. If possible allow some people to work at home in lieu of commuting.  Get rid of disposible cups and utensils and replace with washable wear. Purchase and use recycled materials for paper, cardboard and other material need. Encourage and require recycling of all types of materials including paper, cans, plastics etc. Reduce energy use by replacing lights with more efficient (T-5) fixtures.  Use occupancy sensors that will shut lights off automatically in corridors and public areas when not occupied. Consider reducing corridor lighting.   In the summer, the building temperature doesn't need to be 70 (for long sleeves and suit jackets). It can be 74 or greater to reduce cooling requirements. Heating temperatures can also be adjusted.  Ensure the building heating and cooling adjusts at night when the building is not occupied. Have everyone do their part. Give recognition awards for those who function in the "greenest" way.

  3. Involve the employee's.

Ask for their input! What would they do?

If they think they came up with "going Green" ideas, it will be a success!
