  1. I saw a show about automobile engines that run on compressed air.  The car can supposedly get from one end of the usa to the other on one tank of gas to refill the tanks with an onboard compressor.  It would be easy to have filling stations since you only need electricity and a compressor.  Unlike hydrogen based vehicles.  Yea you still have to make electricity, but at least it would reduce pollution and you can always strive to make electric plants more efficient.

  2. Don't worry about it. The moor we burn ,which makes more CO2 the moor the plants will grow and recycle moor oil.

  3. Stop letting corporate america speak for us! There are totally ways to develop different forms of fuel, but exxon and all those big companies can stand to lose the money. America needs to start voting and standing up for what they believe in!!!

  4. Slap on a substantial tax on petroleum fuels to create an incentive for people, and industry to change their ways and invest in up to date, fuel saving, technology, and development of alternative energy sources.

This will ease the global demand situation and cause a drop in prices. This, and the newly available revenues, can contribute in improving the catastrophic US trade balance. Other positive effects are, of course, less pollution and less cash transferred to certain unsavoury regimes.

This takes true leadership and guts.

  5. We could start by voting Democrat.

  6. Solar power

    Wind power

    Hydro power

    Nuclear power

    One more thing... Man power

  7. Arab countries should run out of oil resources and USA to use the alternative energy resources...

then one thing you and me minimizing the usage of electricity, vehicles for unwanted reasons.

  8. Higher gas, smaller car.

  9. For the political officials to stop taking kick-backs from the oil companies.

  10. Lets say that there was an initiative to bring in an alternative fuel.  Once opec sees that the initiative is gaining momentum, they would get all their members to pump all out, day and night, and flood the world with gasoline.  So the price of gas would fall to .20/gallon.  People would start using gas again and the alternative fuel would go away, and then the prices would start going up again.  The same way wal-mart moves into an area it puts its competitors out of business by having super low prices, and once the competition goes away they slowly raise prices.

  11. First things first, we need to get someone into office who isn't corrupted, and best friends with the oil industry.

Then we need to get someone in office who has the balls to stand up to the oil industry, because until we take them down there will be no alternatives to oil.

They simply dont allow it, people invent things that run off corn or garbage even, and the oil companies buy up the patent. They dont want something like that taking the place of say cars. I mean then they wouldnt be able to sleep on a pile of money every night.

So once that happens then the government should fund some projects to find sources of renewable energy, or to fund the growth of the ones we already have.

Its entirely possible, unfortunately the people in this country watch fox news, and dont know how seriously in deep S**t we are.

  12. Before I answer, let me say that you need to get your mind off this track of expending mental energy trying to think of ways to eliminate oil as a source of energy. You will waste time. It is unrealistic. It will never happen. And it will make you a dumber person in general.

In a perfect/pretend world, everyone can car pool on solar powered buses or ride their bikes. And we can put solar panels on our houses.

But stop right there. Where do we get energy for the plastics used in the solar panels? How do we run factories that will mass produce these new cars? OIL!

The faster you realize you're dealing in a lost cause, the better. But first it's important to understand why. Without oil, there is nothing. There is no keyboard for you to type on. No chair to sit on. It's not just cars.
