Question:

What are some ways for a swimmer to get really toned up in your arms and legs in a few months?

my swim team practice starts in just a few months and i want to be really strong when i start with a lot of endurance bc i am flyer ( meaning i mainly do fly as my stroke) and need a lot of strength in my arms and legs. so if you guys have any ideas on how to get toned up there plz answer and tell me thx:)

  1. Hey! I'm a flyer too. The main way that I get my upper body into shape before swim season is using a stretch chord/resistant band.

    Also, if you want to improve your fly kick you should try to get into the pool a little early (around half an hour) and do fly kick with and without a kickboard.

  2. k im a backstroker/IMer...also 50 flyer for high school state medley relay

    tone ur arms by doing strech resistence cords

    they get u rly sore but them it get u stonger

    also try using a small medicine ball (4 pounds max) and through it against a wall a catch it, like chest passes and right/left arm only and over head catches with another person except it is with a wall

    for legs do 2 footed hops up the stairs and then run down.....do that a few tiems

    also just try running up and down stairs (sprint) for 2 min.  that kills but it good

    if ur a flyer u also want to make ur core stronger do situps and crunches and other excerices to work on ur core
