  1. dont give more gas than you need to when you take off from a stop. use your cruise  control when your on the highway of freeway.  just avoid slamming the gas. i guess it was proven when you  go around 30 or 45 or sumin i dont exactly know, but with you a/c on, it saves gas. when you come to a stop, let go of the gas way before so that you slow to the stop instead of hitting you brakes when your almost there.

  2. Properly inflated tires is a big tip.  There was a study ( i forget who it was by, so if you don't beleive me then fine...but this is true)  that the amt of gas saved by adding 10% ethanol to all gas would be equal to the amt of gas saved if everyone had properly inflated tires.

Don't accelerate as fast as you normally would.  Try to keep your RPM's under 3000.  The slower you accelerate the less gas you burn.

Coast more.  If your just coasting then your going to burn less gas...!

If the speed limit is 55, do 55.  if its 65,  do 65.  Once your car goes over 65 mph you burn a lot more gas.

Don't race down city streets to find yourself stopped at a red light.  Try to time the lights by going slower.  This decreases frequent starts and stops and increases gas milage!

  3. Yes, slow down another 5 mph, use the cruise control only on the hwy, check the tire pressure (spare too), avoid stomping on the gas when accelerating, & get a decent tune up. G'day

  4. 1.  Driving with tires that are properly inflated.

    2.  Remove unnessary roof racks like ski racks when not in use before driving

    3.  Remove junks in the trunk.  People tend to care excessive stuff in the trunk when they are not in use.

    4.  Reduce amount of passengers that you carry.

    5.  Make sure the car is tuned up.  Air fliters are clean.

    6.  Drive smoother.  Use cruise control more.  Don't go from gas to brake unless necessary.  Let the car coast.  "lead foot" is very bad for gas mileage.

    7.  Drive with the highest gear and lowest engine RPM at the optimum speed as much as possible  (if you want manual transimission, shift early).

    8.  Reduce hwy speed to 55-60mph.  Higher speed increase significant amount of wind resistance.

    9.  Look farther down on the road, anticipate slowing situation and hills.  Slowing down by coast before brakes are applied.

    10.  Turn off unnecesasry accessories such as A/C, heated seat...etc.
