  1. Have lights that automatically switch off when no ones in the room. Controled sink water, insted of buying wood chips for a play ground they can use the trees they cut down and use them insted.

  2. Why not just shut the schools down 3 days a week.  The kids can learn all the politically correct clabber in two days anyway.  And after all, thats all that matters anymore in our public schools.

  3. A computer in every home and have classes taught online.  No school building needed, no busses, no school uniforms or fancy clothes.

  4. Use  the new lower wattage bulbs.  Adjust the heat lower and the AC higher  as needed.  Put heat reflecting film on the windows if the school is in an area that is usually warm.  Make sure all windows and exterior doors seal well. Use fans to circulate the air. Have lights in the bathrooms that come on automatically when someone enters and off after people leave (as in between classes.)  Turn elelctrical equipment off when it is not being used.... even computers.  Avoid using a lot of timers .   That's all I can come up with quickly..... hope that helps..

  5. Implement a demand response and energy management system. http://www.enernoc.com

  6. turning off electronics when they re not needed, turning of the school lights when school is over, getting wind power, and/or solar power... Many Ways, you have to think real hard on it

  7. use those energy efficent lights. open windows instead of air conditioners(i agree through that sumtimes it gets hot)

  8. Lower class room temperature when heat is used, and raise when cooling is used. Students compensate with more or less clothes. Thats what i do at my house. Works for eskimos, and central africans.....;-), seriously, there are areas in schools that dont have to be lighted up, heated up or cooled down, like locker rooms, walk ways etc.

Low energy lighting....LED's in hot areas will save on air condition cost....

Installing, by timer or outside light, automatic shut down, on lighting.

Use white board instead of blackboard, need less lighting.....

Energy windows, keep temp inside better, blocking both heat and chill from outside

  9. Install good insulation, cultivate large trees nearby the school (this can cut down on cooling costs in the summer!)

Don't prop doors open, turn off unnecessary lights or unused computers, encourage people to use the bus instead of being driven by parents, encourage those who live near the school to walk.

  10. Have some classes outdoors on nice days. I would love that!
