What are some ways that businesses are saving energy?

I always hear about homes and residents becomming greener and saving energy, but how are larger businesses like hotels, colleges, and manufacturing plants doing their part??

There are many businesses out there that our making a huge effort to protect our environment.  However there are many others that continue to waste energy, pollute and damage the Earth through their destructive business habits. Why would they want to they get a discount electric rates

COSTCO Warehouse Shopping stores have 3 double door semi high garage size entry doors that are open when the store is open year round

That's got ta  cost a fortune to heat and cool in seasons but do they worry

No Why

Because they get a discount on the Gas and Electric bill

And to turn off the bathroom light at a building that has 300 CFL tube lights burning 24 - 7 is kind of stupid if you think about it

So it is only Mr. Joe and Sally Public that has to do something to curtail energy usage by adjusting our thermostat to use less energy

Some are using motion detectors in the bathrooms and turning off lights in unused rooms.  For businesses they are upgrading to lower cost equipment to minimize their energy usage and setting the thermostat to a higher temp in summer and a lower temp in winter to safe on heating and cooling.
