What are some ways to Clean up the atmosphere?

I'm researching this but everything seems very technical and not practical...So I'm looking for some ways... Practical every day life ways, to clean up the atmosphere.

  1. You can start at home by changing your cleaning products and personal care products. Then teach your friends.  Why these they are chemicals going into our ground, drinking water, in our air.  Further more they are being absorbed by your body. Below included things you can use also.


  2. You can try in the good ol USA but what we as individuals put out is like spitting in the ocean.  Figure a way to get a handle on places like China and India and then you might have a toe hold.

  3. run or walk to school/work, use public transport more then using your car, instead of having lots of cars to go to a place try sharing cars so their will be less cars etc

  4. Recycle... recycle recycle recycle. We used to have to full garbage bins every garbage day, then our parents really enforced the recycling thing, and we use less than one now :)

    Carpool, or take public transport.

    Encourage friends/family/coworkers to start doing simple things like recycling their pop cans, etc.

  5. Plug up all the volcanoes, and make a huge box the size of Texas full of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda.

  8. i never use my dryer on my hair or clothes anymore!  I never use paper towels. (7 years now)..I compost and grow my own tomatoes and tangerines and lowquats.

    I work from home.  I live in the city...if I drive it's less than a mile.  My gas bill is 30.00 per month.  I rarely eat out....only sushi!

    I buy from local farmers markets..and i don't buy prepackaged frozen foods..i recycle cans, and plastics and glass and paper.  I use vinegar and water, and essential oils for cleaning.  I have a High Efficiency washer. I only use cold water.  No sodas, no plastic bottles.  I love sweet tea.

    I like to re-purpose things and look at the thrift store first...if i have a retail therapy need to fill.  

    I recently chose to buy an existing home instead of a new home.  some people don't get that.  but i love it.

    i changed all my light bulbs a year ago.  I unplug appliances and things that are not being used from outlets.  I use solar out door lighting.  i don't do drycleaning anymore.  i don't get my nails done. anymore...

    i don't use lawn blowers..i have an electric and a push mower. no gas mower.

    we camp out instead of hotels for vacations...

    i do ebay...

    motion sensor lights

    that's all i can think of now..but i try to add to that so i'm goaling for off the grid one day!

    i quit skydiving in 2003 after seeing jet fuel spueing from the tank...over the indian river lagoon...took up kiteboarding instead.

    it's all about the wind and the sun!
