  1. I'm with you friend, I'm always running away from humidity, but global warming is a beeotch and if you're in a humid area, you can't avoid humidity unless you stay in an air conditioned environment. You can only learn to tolerate it.

The air conditioner is your friend  because he not only cools the air, but he removes  moisture from the air. That's why we always see water coming out of your friend when he's in a car or hanging out of a window.

Humidity can be very uncomfortable. Our bodies are always perspiring. We can't see this perspiration in drier, more comfortable environments where it quickly evaporates in the air. In a humid environment, that perspiration builds up rather than evaporates because the air is already full of moisture. This makes me  break a sweat walking from my car to the liquor store entrance. If this moisture stays on me and my clothes, bacteria flourish  in my  moist warm armpits and private parts then I reek.

If you do outdoor physical activity, your body will accustom itself to the humidity quicker, but it takes years for a body to acclimatize itself to a new environment. If you're in an area that gets any snow at all during the winter, then your summer will be too short for your body to acclimatize. You can live in a sauna during the winter months. This will make your summers much more tolerable.

You can go swimming, but you would only be fooling yourself. Water in the air around the pool or lake will probably be more humid than the surrounding air due to evaporation.

Also stay away from any vegetation. Lawns, wooded areas, etc., save for some desert plants which transpire at night in order to conserve H20, all others tend to transpire water as a part of photosynthesis during the day. This increases humidity. Even in parts of Phoenix, humidity has been known to have increased due to watering lawns.

You can move to a drier place like southern California or Arizona, but you would only be running away from your problems. You must  face your demon and strike him down with a deathly hammer-blow.

Global warming comes with a hefty price tag - humidity. We can combat global warming with free air conditioners for everyone. Jump on the Straight Talk Express, or Barack the Vote? Whoever gives me a free air conditioner - that's the one I'll vote for.

  2. It's unavoidable, but you can cope with it by: not wearing black clothes, they absorb heat... instead, wear white because it reflects the heat/light off of you. Get a pool. Drink lots of water.

  3. Get an air conditioner.

Use fans to aid evaporation of sweat.

    Drink lots of water.

Avoid using dehumidifiers. They actually heat the air. Sure they decrease the humidity but they make the room even warmer than it was. A dehumidifier is basically an air conditioner that is venting its hot air back into the room.
