What are some ways to calm ur mind and to not think negative thoughts ?

ive had anxiety for a while and well i;m trying to get over it. and well i lost a lot of weight from it all, and i just cant kjeep my mind off it i want to get my wieght back up but i just keep thinking the worst and i know worrying makes u lose weight so i need advice on how to just clear my head of bad thoughts and just relax myself.

  1. Have you tried guided imagery and affirmations? There are some great books, CDs, etc. by people like Shakti Gawain.  

    Meditation might be helpful.  Thicht Naht Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, has written several wonderful books on meditation.   His Holiness, the Dalai Lama of Tibet, has also written on mediatation.  Jon Kabat-Zinn and Sylvia Boorstein are American authors with great material.  Many faith traditions have meditation so you may be able to find something comfortin to you within your own community.

    Have you considered talk therapy?  If you work, your workplace human resources department may have an Employee Assistance Program which can recommend or provide a therapist.

    Might you be able to talk with a life coach/minister/pastor/iman/rabbi?

    They may know of resources in your community.  If not, perhaps United Way has an office in your area that knows of resouces that are within your budget.

  2. when i start feeling like this..I pray and call on the name of Jesus. i promise you it works and also get out your Bible and read the book of Psalms. I like psalms 121 because it was given to me from the Lord as I cried out to him and he spoke to my heart. God bless you and I'll keep you in my prayers.

  5. Will power is seldom enough to deal with anxiety syndrome.  You need some medication to see you through this period of time.

    Speak to your family doctor about how to deal with this.

    Meditation, yoga, exercise, and a busy mind help keep worrisome thoughts at bay for some people, but not all.

    The fact that you now present with weight loss due to the anxiety would indicate you need a little help getting past this problem.

    Don't try to do this yourself.  Simple chronic anxiety can progress into Panic/Anxiety Syndrome, and that can easily be avoided with a little help from a professional.


  6. Music!!! but not like depressing music. try to focus yourself on all the positive things on your life. While you listen to your music take deep breaths. you will feel much better! trust me.
