Okay, so it's really hot in my house right now, and I don't want to run the electric bill up or whatever. Help would be greatly appreciated! :D

  1. *a damp towel around ur neck

*periodically spray ur face with water in a pump bottle

    *wet ur hair

*drink cool peppermint tea ,its more refreshing than water and takes away that naucious feeling  .or water .

*keep sun out of ur house ,but let in breezes if there are any .

    ..GOOD LUCK  ....

  2. Go to the basement if you have one.

If not, sit in the shade outside.

    Mist yourself with water.

  3. wet a towel and place in freezer....take it out and put in plastic trash bag....put dry towel around it and mold to shape of neck.......place around your neck and have a better night's sleep!!! you can also put wet washcloths around your wrists. These methods cool your blood as it circulates(areas where they take your pulse rate)

  4. ,,,hey== way back ..when  most people didn't  have a/c,,,we  d take an ice cube,,rub it on your forehead,,or bottom of your wrist,,,  bout the best thing was an old  fashion ,, hand held church fan,,,  using no electricity,,,just wave it in front of your  face,,, you had to do a lot of waving ,,but it provided  a slight breeze,,  you may not be old enough to remember these,,,

  5. If your home or apt is two or more stories open the upper windows and lower windows.  Heat rises and will be sucked out of the upper windows bringing cooler air in on the first level.

If you live in a one floor home or apt you can do the sam thing by lowering the windows from the top and raising them from the bottom on the other side.  This is assuming that the upper part of your windows are not fixed in place.

  6. the best way to keep you house "cooler" is to keep the blinds drawn to reflect the heat.  Also, were minimal clothing if possible and keep a damp cloth handy.  Even room temperature water feels cool to the skin.
