  1. Sell candy bars, or baked goods

    Have a car wash

  2. Post a profile at http://www.microgiving.com and people will donate to your charity.

  3. well it depends on the kind of charity, what their resources are, etc.

Selling products is ok, but usually you have to pay for the products and the return is small.  Direct mail campaigns can be excellent, but you will need to have access to lists of people to mail to and the 1st time usually doesn't produce much.

Your best bet is to go to your local library and check out some books on fund raising or fund development, for instance "fund raising for dummies".

The thing about raising money is that you want to engage in the correct TYPE of fund raising for your organization.  The wrong type of efforts can lead to actually loosing money and/or making the organization look bad.

Just remember, all your doing is asking people for money.  Sometimes the best bet is developing a list of "important" people you know who have money and asking them to connect you with other people.  business owners, etc.  Put a sales pitch together with information about what the Org does and why they should support it, and just ask them in person.

  4. 'YOUTH NOISE's Raise It and Donate It Toolkit ' gives you an easy-to-use "how to's" for organizing a fundraiser.
