i swim kinda fast but I want to be really fast...

  1. practice with a drag suit on , and compete with a suit that is 4 sizes too small.

    on a 25 don't take more than two breaths.

    stretch, practice, lift weights, excercise and practice some more.

    swim with others that are better than you, you will find yourself wanting to keep up and pushing yourself more.

    The three secrets that he has are:

    1) no wasted motion.  There is no splash when he swims, he doesn't push against the direction he is traveling,

    2) he swims with his whole body.  The kick starts at his shoulders and travels to his feet as if he were a hand.

    3) efficient stroke.  You have to push against still water, which means you do not just muscle your arm through the water, but use your hands to scull and sculpt the water so that you are pressing against it, not moving through it.  Watch his hands closely.

    Golfers watch the pros and then try to mimic their swings.  Watch videos of the olympians and videos of yourself.  You will see what you need to do.

    Practice, practice, practice.
