What are some ways to train for 1500m run?

i want to get around 4 minutes 30 seconds

i am just starting to prepare

any ideas?

  1. Well if you are just starting out i highly doubt you will get that time rigth away...

    But some work outs are 200m hard 400m easy  then 3:00 rest then continue with 400m hard 200m easy 400m hard keep alernating between the two with the 3:00min rest do that with 5-6 sets(1set= 200-400-200 or the 400-200-400)

    3:00min. rest in between each distance then 7:00min between the two sets.

    also do some long easy runs 1-2 times a week like 10-15km

    and take like 1-2 days off during the week

  2. i'm not sure how much this will help you because my time at the moment is around 5:20, what is your current time?

    interval training is good

    improving strength in your leg muscles via running 400s and 200s in practice is also useful

    if you're doing this for a race, one/a few of the races/meets you go to before it might be useful to do some speed work by competing in a 400 and an 800 or something similar
