I do oil paintings geared to shore areas and would like to know all of the cities where I can approach galleries. My work is a little on the modern side so progressive areas would be best.

  1. In the northeast, the small coastal towns of Maine would be considered quite wealthy, but I'm not sure about progressive.  New England tends to hold on to a very traditionalist attitude.  Communities along the Jersey Shore also have some very wealthy residents who might be a little more progressive than Maine.  I hear that Chincoteague, Virginia is absolutely beautiful and inspirational.  Miami Beach I guess you could say is very progressive, being the heart of the art deco movement, and they have a lot of artists living in the area.  If you are talking West Coast, maybe you could look at the Oregon fishing villages of Astoria and Newport, and there's always San Francisco, of course.

  2. WEST: San Francisco Bay Area, Monterey Bay Area, SoCal Coast.

    NORTHWEST:Seattle.

NEW ENGLAND:NY City, Long Island, The Hamptons, Atlantic Coast.

SOUTHEAST: Intercoastal Waterway{FL}, First Coast(FL), Miami, Tampa Area, North Of Miami.
