well I took this trip Los Angeles you can board the Southwest chief to Williams JCT where they have a shuttle to Williams (its

overnight on the train) then the shuttles takes to the Williams

Grand canyon Railroad station and hotel.

where you can have breakfast and watch a wild west show

then board the train about 10:00am it arrives the Grand canyon about 2 hours later

this is if you are traveling eastbound..

if you are traveling westbound (lke from Chicago the

southwest cheif arrives at Williams Jct around 10:00pm

at night -where the shuttles (it meets all amtrak trains)

will take to the Grand canyon hotel where you can spend the night and then next day..off to the Grand canyon

an alternete idea (you could change to a bus at flagstaff

and that bus will take to the Grand canyon

but I think the trains is  more fun

Amtrak stops at Flagstaff, AZ.  From there you can drive to the Canyon, or you can connect with the Grand Canyon Railroad. I would start with Amtrak's website for travel, then go to Xanterra.com, they provide the hotel and restaurant services at the Grand Canyon under contract with the U.S. Park Service.

You know what you can do search in google and type in train trip to grand canyon, and then once you tupe that in your result is there. I know you might think it is a scam, but if there is a address its ok because you can go there to check out, then if you like it, you can go inside and make you reservation. I hope that's helpful because i tried that before and it work out great anf they even gave me a low price.
