  1. If that were my child, I wouldn't put them anywhere I hadn't seen for myself first.  Websites lie.

  2. I would Not put him somewhere you have not seen. i would also check the License before enrolling him. see if they have anything bad in the history. any 911 call and for what, any signs of children not be treated right and so on.

  3. www.ofsted.gov.uk

    http://www.childcarelink.gov.uk/index.as...

a good idea is to maybe go to some parent and toddler groups in the area you'll live in-then you can talk to parents there to find out where they are sending their children, why etc.

    Good Luck!

  4. Every county or "burg" is governed with a local agency who reviews childcare centers.  Centers must meet many requirements in order to be licensed.  Many agengies will post recent inspections of the centers for your review.  In Ohio, USA the website is ODJFS and a listing of all centers are available for review.  I am not familiar with England websites, but, I am sure once you review ours, it will launch the neccessary websites for England by doing a bit of research.

  5. Check out OFSTED reports anywhere that has been give a good or outstanding judgement is a good place to shortlist. Then contact the places directly and ask for a show around, you will be given the opportunity to look around, ask questions and see for your self the type of setting it is and how well the children are enjoying them selves as well as meeting the staff. Like looking at houses you know instantly if you will be at home there. Word of mouth is fine if you know the persons passing on the advice have similar views on childcare themselves but OFSTED are the experts when it comes to assessing how a setting for under fives helps the children they care for to enjoy and achieve. GOOD LUCK os if you are moving to devon check us out: tictocs, exeter or acorns, exeter or abc, exmouth all in devon.

  6. I say ask around and drop in to visit different daycares. Don't call ahead and tell them yo uare soming in to check it out!

  7. It's best to find a good nursery through word of mouth, call into the local doctors and ask them if they could ask the local health visitors for a list of nurseries in your area.

Talk to other mum and dads, go to mums and toddler groups and see what you can find out.

Another good idea is to look through he local paper, you'll often see nurseries doing sponsored walks, fund raising you can pick up alot from that.

You cant rely on websites you don't get a true picture

  8. DONT look on the internet go to your local supermarket or shop and put up notices talk to people if you live in a small town news will spread fast
