  1. How about having a karaoke machine.Do the dollar dance. For music, play some songs that your family likes that way they can have a good time too.My mom tells me,your not just gonna play rock and that techno music you listen to.I'm like no.I'm playing everything.Salsa, reggaton, spanish dance,rock,80's,country,hiphop,

    trance,dicso,oldies.

  2. If you are in the UK you can hire a VideoBooth kiosk so that that people can leave video messages for the Bride and Groom.

The messages all come back on DVD afterwards

    have a look at http://www.videoboothsystems.co.uk/weddi...

  3. garder toss, dances (chicken, stoken, cha cha slide, ect) bouquet throw, MONEY dance, cake cutting, toast first dance...

  4. dunno

  5. No, please.  No activities.  As a guest, I am not expected to perform or play games.

I expect to bring a gift.  I expect to sit quietly and watch you wed.  I expect to be given good food and beverages at the reception.  That's it.  If I feel like it and the music is good, I may dance.

    That's it.

I really must protest.  As a guest, I do not have to take part in any activities.  I am old, and I simply am not going to participate.  I think you are very rude to expect it.

Now drop the idea of activities immediately, please.  Concentrate on getting me good food, beverages, and good music.  That's all.

    It's not a carnival, after all.  It's a wedding.

  6. We had a daytime wedding and just hired a piano player who played his original music (which was very good and listenable for the various age groups) and let our 75 guests mingle, which was great. It was also outdoors in a sunny garden so the surroundings were very beautiful too and it was not too austere.

You could hire a local art student from the college to bring pastels or charcoal to do portraits or caricatures of your guests.

You could set up those mini-polaroids that make sticker photos at a table and maybe put up an inexpensive background so people can make photos as in a photobooth.

Set disposable cameras around so people can take candid photos.

Put a small square book called If:The book of Questions on each table and people can get to know one another or have fun together (If they already know each other) by asking the questions therein.

ETA: these activities could all be simply there for the taking and announced at the beginning of the reception but left to guests' own devices whether or not to participate. That way even the Suz123s at your wedding can sit and take in the atmosphere if they choose or decide to take a photo of granny doing the chicken dance if they find it amusing.
