What are some wedding cake ideas?

I am going to get married in April of next year. I have no idea of what i want the wedding cake to look like. I want something different and unique. I would appreciate the help if I could get some ideas or good pictures. Thanks for everything.

Check out theknot.com and look through the various cakes.  They have some amazing cakes and will get you thinking about ideas.  Maybe even incorporate different aspects of different cakes and walah...you have your cake :)  Good luck!

The shape of my cake was hexagon and had 3 layers.  It was really neat because I'd never seen any like it before.  You can always watch the Ace of Cakes on cable and get ideas from them.  There are TONS of ideas on that show!

I absolutely love the cupcake wedding "cakes" - little towers of beautifully decorated cupcakes. So easy to serve! You can even have a small tier on top to save for your first anniversary :)

Go to your favorite bakery and they will have an album of cakes that they have made and will have lots of ideas for you.  Check out other bakeries before you make your final decision.  You may also want to check with you caterer, they've seen everything!

Hi.  My suggestion would be....do you have a local bakery in mind?  Why not go in to your local bakery....or a bakery where your wedding will take place and chat with them.  Most will set up an appointment for a taste testing.

So....you could take a picture in, if you want, but they will have lots of pictures also from previous wedding cakes that they have done!

What are you wedding colors? And how many guests does it need to feed?

I am irish and and had it  decorated with shamrocks ( made of icing) .. it was different .. and I have been married over 20 years now.
