  1. There are no standard units of study for preschool.  What you are talking about is the state standards that children are supposed to be taught in each school grade, starting with Kindergarten.  Don't worry about units of study for preschool, just give the kids many opportunities for developmentally appropriate play.  That's how they learn in preschool.

  2. make hand gun in class and shot teacher

  3. Standards are part of the curriculum created by each state that is mandated to be taught in all classrooms. I do not know if there are preschool standards. If not, you could start teaching the kindergarten standards. Check your state's department of education website and they might be available for view.

  4. My state has standards for infants and toddlers, pre-school, Kindergarten and school-age children.  They follow common themes from the time a child is born until the child gradutes, adapted for age, of course.

My state does not encourage teachers to base their units on the standards.  The best thing you can do for children is allow them to choose what the topic of study (the unit) will be.  If they're interested in building things, for instance, then you - as the teacher - would find books and activities about building things.  After you have those things rounded up, THEN you would look at the standards to see which standards the child will acheive based on the activities you've planned for them.

In other states, they may ask you to use the standards first.  In that case, you could look through the standards to see which ones you want the kids to achieve for the week and then plan the activities to meet those standards.

    Hope this answers your question.
