What are stem cells?

  1. They are basically undifferentiated cells that have the ability to divide and become potentially any cell type. Stem cells in plants (called the meristem) are the reason they can live so long and keep growing back even if you mow them, etc.


  2. they are cells that are in embryos that can be changed into different types of cells.
