 Alpha Phi Alpha was founded at Cornell. It established their Beta chapter at Howard.

Stereotypes are different from place to place. It is plan stupidity to look at a organization and judge all members because of how someone may look at that school or region. There is so many stereotypes that I have heard pertaining to Divine Nine Organizations like: AKA-light complected black can only join, snobs, and dumb. Dst- darker skinned blacks only join, masculine, smart, female Omegas. Zphib- over weight, unattractive, manly and can cook. Sgrho(I am member)-few in number, smart,shy, unattractive. AphiA-smart and g*y, Kappas-pretty boys, g*y, mostly fair skinned. Ques-rugged, militant Phibeta sigma- country, Iota- N/A. The NPHC have been doing great things for the community since early 1900's, so join an organization based on the hard work of a organization and not based on a stereotype. FYI: Research before  joiningany organization.

Wow!  I'm not greek but every Sigma Gamma Rho at my University is average sized to thin and very attractive.  The AKA's here are the most overweight, but look pretty good.  I don't think these stereotypes are accurate or important.  The truth is what important, and I think the truth is that large and small, cute and not so cute are in every sorority.  Just looking at the different sororities on the internet (youtube and other websites) can easily prove this.  I'm thinking of pledging DST or SGRHO but it won't be because of how they look.
