I hate to tell you this, but getting a retail job in the Portland area at age 14 is going to be tough to impossible, I'm 17 and I spent three weeks applying to every store and grocery out there, and even with a good resume, contacts and credentials I couldn't find a job. At age 14 the hours you're allowed to work are also very limited, but if you still want to give it a shot, try looking through online job services for corporate jobs or just walk a major street to see if people need shelf stockers or restaurant dishwashers.
