  1. Suicide clusters are when a cluster of several suicides happens in a small area.  Yes, a genetic predisposition for depression, suicidal ideation, and a similar environment does put family members at risk for suicide as well.  It is very important for all family members of someone who has committed suicide to be insightful in recognizing signs of trouble and getting help early should they need it.


  2. Usually, suicide clusters are a group of people that end their life together for religious purposes. But I do agree that suicidal attempts are hereditary and if you already lost someone to suicide than you'll be more likely to do it yourself.

  3. No.  In short, suicide clusters are observed fact that when a highly publicized suicide occurs, a spike in suicides in general tends to follow.  These are unrelated to the first one.  It's pretty interesting.
