Police can issue summary charges.. what are they?

  1. It all has to do with the courts that the matters can be heard in.

    Summary are minor type charges like shoplifting, assault, etc

    Indictable charges are the more serious type ones like murder manslaughter BES

    there is also a trick with where they appear in the crimes act.... prior to 300 i think is indictable.   after 300 is summary.
