  2. Excessive urination

    Problems with coordination

    Blindness

    Incontinence

The symptoms are very similar to those in humans.

I know that you said that you plan to have her tested, so good for you.  The sooner, the better.  Her kidneys can shut down if you let it go for too long.

  3. Your dog will drink a lot of water and will urinate a lot (frequency).   My dog has diabetes and started out with the water and peeing.  But it was unnoticed (until blood work was done)...  he also had bloody nose at one point (I am thinking it is also related to the diabetes).

  4. If you feed high quality food with lots of meat you won't have to worry

  5. excess drinking, excess urinating, dry mouth. Also these can be signs of Cushings disease in dog. With diabetes dog or cat usually loses weight. With Cushings disease they usually look like a pot belly pig appearance.

  6. I found this on line to tell you what you are asking about:

The most common symptoms of diabetes in dogs are very similar to the symptoms seen in the onset of juvenile diabetes in humans. These symptoms include excessive thirst and drinking, frequent urination and the dog may suddenly start to loose weight. Since many dogs that develop diabetes are overweight to begin with, often owners are not worried until the dog becomes excessively thin or start the vomiting or diarrhea. By this stage the dog has advanced to a serious condition of blood sugar imbalance and may need hospitalization and rehydration before going on with treatment.
