Nice edit CW, way to change your wrong answers!

  3. Nylon and  polyester and there are many combinations of synthetics also.

  4. hemp, polyester

  5. When you want that tacky '70s look with a polyester shirt.

  6. Rayon, orlon, nylon, polyester, polypropylene, polyethelene, polyvinylchoride, polyvinyl.  Most synthetics are blended with cotton, wool, linen providing the benefits of both.  Cotton carries away heat from the body providing comfort in warm climates not realized in textiles of synthetic.  Spandex can be any of various elastic synthetic textile fibers.

Many of the previous synthetics are made from petroleum and other chemicals, but there is one, available since WWll that is made from milk, but the exact name I don't remember.

  7. synthetic simply means that the fibers are "artificial"  or at least mostly artificial & produced via chemical process (such as polyester, spandex, & vinyl)- instead of a natural product such as cotton, wool, & leather. (rayon, according to Wikipedia is one of those "in between" fibers b/c it is made from cellulose which comes from plants, but it is still  chemically produced).

  8. there are many chemical substitutes for cotton but none as good as a natural fiber such as cotton. if you had ever seen someone burned while wearing a polyester shirt you would never put any synthetic clothing on again.

  9. orlon, nylon,polyesther

  10. well cotton is not a synthetic fiber.  But you can find similar textures yes with synthetic fibers.  Just not as nice feeling on the skin and breathable for most people.  I LOVE Cotton.
