  1. I'm not sure where you got the number 10 from.  If you have a BA or BS (4-year college degree) in astronomy, you can teach high school physical science, work for a museum or planetarium, or work as a research assistant.  Those last three aren't very likely though; they tend to hire grad students instead because we're cheaper and more knowledgeable.  A masters in astronomy won't get you much further than a BS. If you want to work as an astronomer, you really need a PhD.  With a PhD, you can work for a college or university, national lab, or NASA.


  2. There are no jobs in astronomy.
