because their is more water, & LESS salt

20 proof alcohol has in about 1/10 liter:

10 grams of alcohol... the "solute"

90 grans of water ...the "solvent"

because their is more water, & LESS alcohol

180 proof alcohol has in about 1/10 liter:

90 grams of alcohol ... " the solvent"

In a solution there is the solvent and the solute. The solvent is what is doing the actual dissolving and it's the substance that you have more of. The solute is what is being dissolved and it's the substance that you have less of.
