  1. Some strange answers here.  When you say region, I'll take that to mean maybe a 100-200 mile stretch.  The three best I've found are Hawaii North Shore, Southern California to Northern Mexico, and Peru.  Costa Rica next, then Southern Australia Adele east.  Forget Cactus because of the sharks plus I think the breaks are cleaner  and less windy in South OZ then West OZ.  There are also some great breaks in South Africa but I haven't been there enough to know how most of them break.  There are many super breaks in other regions, but I don't think there are that many in close proximity to those regions mentioned above.

  3. Yes, Australia is the best place to surf, then the Hawaiian Islands, and then the Pacific coast of California. It differentiates between different people based on opinion.

    Indonesian coast (Lombok etc)

    Victorian or W.A. Coastline.
