1. a custom 1911-if it worked for your great grandpa, grandpa, and your dad, itll work for you.
2. a ruger 10/22-everyone has to have a .22; light, controlable, simple, and perfect.
3. Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun-hardly ever jams, 12 gauge will knock anything down, best shotgun by far.
...and a forth one because you can never have too many guns...
4. a bolt action rifle like a Rem. 700 in .308 or a Win. Model 70 in .30-06-for hunting and reach-out-and-touch applications.

A Remington 870 smooth bore 12 ga. with choke tubes can be used for home or woods.  You can load anything from birdshot to slugs in it.  You can find 12 ga. ammo everywhere.  Sabots or slugs can be used which gives you enough power to kill anything that walks or crawls.  A good sabot or slug will give you a 200 yard killing range.  The rifle of choice would be a panther 308.  A five round clip for hunting.  A 19 round for other thngs that crawl.  During hard times ammo could be found everywhere.  A Ruger 10/22 for fun, hunting and home use.  A 30 round clip of 22 long rifles in close quarters is controlable and deadly.
