  1. GDP-gross domestic product

    Infrastructure-roads/bridges/rails, etc.

    Longevity or life expectancy

    Infant mortality rates

    poverty rate

    Levels of educational attainment

    Household disposable income

  2. Infrastructure

    Unemployment

    Mortality Rate

    Literacy Rate and Education levels

    Average income

    GDP.

Just my thoughts.  I think there are more than that though.  Hope it helps!!! :D

  3. I don't know about "THE" 6 ways, but here are some:

    - Is there proper infrastructure in place? (ie: running water, electricity, reliable roadways)  For more advanced countries such as those in the Eastern Bloc, access to technology may be a measurement oc economic development.

    - Are diseases under control?  Many countries who are poorly developed lack the resources to properly vaccinate their citizens.

    - Is inflation under control?  This can severely prohibit growth in a nation's economy.

    - What is the level of unemployment?  If a large portion of the population is out of work. it can also seriously damage the ability for economic growth.

  4. Life expectancy, literacy rate, computers/cars per capita, health/education spending per capita, maternal mortality rate, poverty rate, % of population with access to clean water, % of population that is malnourished.
