What are the AP Music Theory Course Requirements?

I have heard that you need to buy certain software for your computer in order to take the AP Music Theory course. Is that true? Also, what else is required for this course. Please give places where I can buy any of the requirements and the approximate price ranges. Thanks so much in advance for your help!!
