Is there anywhere on the web where I can find a description of all the gestures the server's partner can make with his hands/fingers on his back to indicate whether he's going to block or not?

Thank you.

  1. it's between you and your partner. I usually don't give signals for where to serve (my partner and I can talk about that general strategy between points, and it may not change often), but to tell my partner how I'm blocking. This tells him where he's going to need to play defense after he serves. If I just tell him to serve short, and it's not an ace, then where does he go?

I use both hands behind my back, left hand for the guy to my left, rt hand for the guy to my right.

    closed fist=no block

    1 finger=line

    2 fingers = angle

If the set goes to a weird place, I use the same signals mid play and yell to my partner to look at the signal during the play. That way i don't tip off the hitter.

  2. these are my personal gestures:

    1 finger means serve short

    2 fingers means serve long

3 fingers means does my bum look big in this?
