What are the Chances of the Texas Rangers making the wild card slot in the playoffs?

They are currently 60-54, 2nd in their division. I think they might with their strong offense that includes Josh Hamilton (28 hr in derby), Ian Kinsler (2nd best batter in AL), and consistant veteran michael Young. Good defense with Marlon Byrd (leads league in diving catches made), Gerald Laird (Golden Glove), and CJ Wilson (a good pitcher).

What do you think?

  1. I've been keeping an eye on Texas a lot recently.  They're a good team, but lack pitching.  I would love to see them make it, but I think the AL East is a little too tough for the Rangers to sneak in.

  2. As a Yankee fan, who has seen them outplay my Yanks the past two days, I will say they are a very good team. Their offense is just almost unstoppable. But saying that they lack pitching is almost an understatement. They are only 5 games behind in the Wild Card so technically they do have a chance. But I honestly don't think they can make it. The AL is rough and the other teams are just too good.

  3. The Rangers are a tough team and can definitely score a lot of runs. But they may need more pitching to become a playoff team, especially in the AL. The two non-divsion winners in the AL East, as well as either the White Sox or Twins, will be tough competition for the wild-card spot.

  4. they will be above .500 at seasons end but not good enough

  5. Rangers have some power hitters but lack pitching
