  1. Here's a tidbit - In Italy, salad is served after the main course.

  2. europe has a wide diversity in cuisine, signiture dishes and table manners.

france eat cheese as a last course.

the dutch eat cheese for lunch and breakfast.

in turkey its polite to burp after dining.

spain has a lot of fish courses.

    germany a lot of meat.

the mediterranian cuisines use a lot of herbs.

the northern cuisines use a lot of dairy and wheats

  3. romania is where i am from.

we have tasty traditional foods, like sarmale, called dolmas in greece. ground pork meat with rice, rolled in pickled cabbage, put to boil for a few good hours. we eat with mamaliga, a sort of corn bread, but we actually boil it.

we drink with our authentic "vodka".

we have different veggie soups (tomato with rice, spinach soup etc)or meat soups(from intestine of the cow, meatball soup, chicken soup).....

we start with an appetizer, but not necessarily. on occasions mostly.

we consider soup to be the first course.

the second course will consist of some shnitzel---chicken breast, lightly breaded and deep fried...with some mashed potatoes ....etc...

desert....mostly on occasions....we have cakes as desserts.

table manners? same as everywhere. be respectful, dont chew with ur mouth open:) interesting to note is that we say after the meal "thank you for the food. the cook is fat and beautiful" sounds funny, but we used to consider being "round and rosy" as a quality.

our influences are turkish---we either drink turkish coffee or italian espresso...greek...we eat olives, tomatoes, spinach, we have a lot of common foods...italian as well...we have a lot of pizza shops and the housewives even learned hot to cook pasta.

sadly is that my traditional food is not healthy at all. the base of every soup is fried onion a.s.o.

as for germany..they love potatoes--kartoffel...and sausage....Wurst....and they eat Sauerkraut a lot. they have a lot of Turkish influence as well. u can eat doenner everywhere in germany...it's kind of like an greek gyros.

    good luck, hope it helped.

  4. Europe's history is so rich and diverse, there are tons and tons of answers to your question. You should try to narrow it down to one specific country or region at least.

  5. Look at a map of Europe. There are so many different countries in europe and each one of them has specialties.

  6. I wold just pick either French or Italian and concentrate on something so you can narrow it down.

Personaly I love Czech cooking as much as those two, but they are easier to research.
