  1. They are metal pieces in the shape of an I beam. They are riveted between pairs of longitudinal floor beams to provide support for the floor panels.

  3. Skyhawk is right cannot argue with SM guys. This area esp. under the Lavatory and galley both FWD & AFT, high corrosion areas  as water ingress seeps in if not leak.
