What are the Indian dances out there?

Indian as in India. My friend told me there are 6 main dances. The ones I know are Bharatanatyam, Khatak, and Odissi. Can anyone list the main 6, and any other mentionable kinds? My friend also told me there are tons of different ones. Thank you!

There are 8 main classical Indian dances.  Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Mohiniaatam, Sattriya, Kathakali, and Kathak.

Bharatanatyam and Odissi are the most classical and adhere strongly to the ancient scriptures and practices.
