  1. Depends what kind of violence you are referring to. Chapter 4 Verse 34 permits men to "beat" their wives.

  2. According to Quran and Hadeeths the wife can report in court and court will declare suitable punishment for abusers.

  3. Islam has no domestic violence laws, man beats woman=acceptable.

    end of story

  4. On the topic of Abuse... :)

    Edit:

  5. hate violence

    love peace

  7. Allah allows it.  I guess these experts who translated the Koran don't know as much as you, lol.  3 versions - it's the literal strike, not the "hit the road" kind, otherwise the word "lightly" would not have to be added (to make it not sound so bad, lol).

    004.034

YUSUFALI: Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all).

PICKTHAL: Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great.

SHAKIR: Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.

  8. We know quran 4:34 allows a husband to beat his wife.  We also know there are many ahadith that support this.  Muhammad even hit Aisha according to Sahih Muslim Book 004, Number 2127: (it's very long so I will leave some out):

"...I, however, preceded him and I entered (the house), and as I lay down in the bed, he (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O 'A'isha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He STRUCK ME ON THE CHEST which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you? ..."

Your prophet hit his favorite wife.  Makes you wonder what he did to the ones he didn't like as much, doesn't it?

  9. He is not supposed to harm her at all, but given the fact that not a single true Muslim is in the world today, none of them follow it but all follow culture.  That's why I left Islam.  So much hypocrisy. And the fact that it says a man is supposed to be head of the house because he's smarter/more logical.  From what I have seen from most men, that's highly doubtful.  Most can't even run a house, but most are very able to lay on their bums giving orders.  No thanks, after almost 7 years, I left it.  And I'm divorcing, which will be final December 8th.

  10. Surah 4.

    34. Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means.

Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard.

As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance):

For Allah is Most High, great (above you all).
