What are the Laws on vehicle abandonment?

"I have had someones car for over 1 1/2 years. The agreement was that I keep the car while they were doing a 1 year tour in Iraq. When Iraq tour was over, they did not come and get their vehicle. I have spoken with, etc. and they keep saying they are coming one day and never show. They have since then moved to another state. The tags are expired and I have no title to the car. Im not sure that the car is paid off, but it is a valuable vehicle, not a hoopty. Advise....."

I am going through the samething right now but its been over 2 yrs. He called work and said he didn't want the care and that he actually forgot it was still here. He didn't leave a contact # or anything. I am going to run a carfax on it to see if there is a lean on it but what can I do? I would like to claim it abandoned and place it in my name if possible.

i rented a camper space including utilities and the man got laid off from his job and moved. He left the camper. I have called the owner and left a message. he did finaly return my call and said he would come to get it wensday or thursday.  It has been two weeks ago.  the rent is past due and I have not heard from him.  what can I do?

my car was taken without permission and the person had an accident with it. now its in a shop and they want to charge me what can i do. what should i do??

call them again ,and tell them you cannot afford to keep thier car much longer if they want it come get it if not give you permission to sell it ,and ask for a fee to do this .They are abusing your friendship by asking for you to keep holding it forever .you have been more than resonable. when you moved to another state if it cost you to take it with you add that to your recoup costs
