  1. Yes adoption can turn out to be a pretty risky business. Me and my wife, patunia, adopted what looked like a lovely little boy called Henry 15 years ago. After a couple of months though things started to change. His skin started comeing out green, and even though he is still 15 we still have to feed him through metal bars as he is extremely viscios. We contacted social services but they have no record of where he came from. After many scientific tests it turns out that he may the offspring of Sauron from middle earth. As you can see you never know what you are adopting.

    Edit:

I think it is highly-unthoughtful of you marking me down for me spending the time to share my traumatic experience with you.

    Primal Wound by Nancy Verrier

On the lizard chronicles site there is an article on separation trauma and its effects on the children. Its not just "adoption" its the loss of mother that has some profound effects on the child.

The negetive effects to adoption would be the money market children are sold under. The deman exceeding the supply of white infants creating a market for white expecting mothers to surrender their children. Baby trafficking from third world countries for child traffickers to get in on the billion dollar industry made from adoption.  The sealing of adoptee's records ( http://www.b******s.org ) ( baby theif by georgia tann ) which is a violation to adoptee rights - its keeping us from our past, ancestry and is a violation of our civil rights.

The demand for infants has created an infant adoption industry of its own that is overlooking the foster care youth and children ( foster youth are the people who NEED homes )

By the adoption industry focusing on the "money" the children who need the homes are being overlooked daily. There are over 100, 000 children languishing in foster care. An estimated 60,000 - 80,000 children are being born from Donor conception annually not to mention the alarming rate of international adoptions.  ( http://www.childwelfare.gov )

ETA: how could I forget the agencies? Adoption agencies in the US have no oversee, no regulation, they are totally unregulated and many non profits are making QUITE a profit. ( http://www.poundpuplegacy.org/node/14774 )

THIS has created a market for the legal selling of children. Its created many uneccesary adoptions and has allowed the adoptees rights to be overlooked for FAR too many years.

    good luck!

    peace!

  3. I KNOW that there are a lot of adoptees that are not happy, for one reason or another, but it does seem to me that this is the universal response-  I used to counsel women who were in crisis pregnancies, and they would, more times than not, be very negative toward adoption- they would rather abort than place for adoption- however I can honestly say, "I AM THANKFUL FOR THE LIFE THAT MY BIRTH MOM GAVE ME."  I had such a good adoption experience, that my hubby and I decided to adopt our 2 children- and if we could have had biological children.  Please in the name of all that is good- look for the good as well

  4. I was adopted and think it is wonderful what my birth mother did for my family.  They were able to have another baby.  I am proud to be adopted.

The only negatives are the d**n courts that allow birth parents to come back and take children they previously adopted out to other families.  That is sick.  It is so tramatic for the child, who has only known the adopted family their whole life.  Just because you physically gave birth to the child, does not give the right to give them and take them whenever you want.  Birth parents that take back those kids are just strangers to them, and that is a huge scary problem in the world of adoption.  Once a baby is adopted into a loving family, they need to stay there.
