What are the Symbols after the score on Guitar Hero III?

I have Guitar Hero III for the PS2 and every now and again, when I have played particularly well, there is a little icon (what it is varies) right after my score. I have looked around and can't determine what this icon is through any source I have found on the web. If you know what all these icons are or where I can find out what they are, I would appreciate it.

I never really payed attention to my score, but I'd say it would be either A) Something to do with combos ( forget what they're called LOL ), or maybe it's trying to tell you that you've gotten to a 2 star score, 3 star score, 4 star score, or 5 star score, that's the only thing I could think of right now.
