What are the advantages a full service airline has on budget airlines?

Most full service airlines are in an alliance with numerous other carriers so if you fly the airline's partners, you can also earn miles on the airline you have a frequent flyer account with.  For example if you fly American Airlines a lot, if you had to fly British Airways because American Airlines doesn't fly there, you can still earn American Airlines miles.  The budget/low-cost carriers are usually not in an alliance or code-share program with other airlines.

Full service airlines usually fly to more places and have airport lounges for those who can afford them.

More departures at more convenient times during the day, generally fly into more centrally located airports, a bigger food/drink service, usually have slightly bigger seats because they don't need to carry as many passengers to make up for lost revenue, better customer service, lower rates of lost baggage.
