What are the advantages and disadvantages of taking a cruise during the summertime?

Disadvantage: kids on school vacation.

Advantage: prices may be cheaper to really hot (warm) destinations.

the weather can be GREAT in the Caribbean but can also be Hurricane season ...it's always a good time to cruise!

As opposed to in the winter?  I definitely prefer taking it in the winter because I can get out of the cold weather and into warm weather.  In the summer, I can get warm weather at home.  Plus it helps chase away the winter blues when you go and it's cold.

The disadvantage is that you can't get off that boat at some time.

The advantage is that you may have a great and relaxed time.

I say the balance is definitely in favour of the advantage here :)

Advantages?  Lower price?  Caribbean cruise, the temps would be the same.  Summer time...perhaps not as many people?

advantages: None that I know of

disadvantages: If you go without friends u will die there. Boring as h**l its like dollar a minute online everything is expensive as h**l and I got sick the very first day probably cause I jumped into a full pool loaded with bacteria from other people.

Advantages depends on where you are going. Alaska and Europe are the cool spots for summer. In the caribbean there are less ships to choose from which drives pricing up as well as possibility of hurricanes. Because summer is the most popular vacation time besides christmas, this means more families and higher rates.
