What are the advantages and disadvantages of the I-405 expansion project?

i am doing a project for my urban studies class on the 405 expansion project and want some feedback from users who perhaps live in the area, have friends who live in the area, or travel through it themselves as part of the daily commute. do you think this project will help, or worsen conditions? any input will help, especially if you live in the area.

I think it's a big waste of money.  It may provide a little temporary relief, but in the grand scheme of things it's not going to make a huge difference.  Investing in public transit or ridesharing programs would be much better.
