What are the advantages/disadvantages of contact lenses over specs?

From my experience:

Advantages:

Nothing stuck on the front of your face, with all the discomfort that goes with that.

Wider field of vision - you get good peripheral vision.

Less distortion of vision.

You can play sports in them and sleep in them (if they are high water content ones).

Don't affect your kissing style!

Disadvantages:

Cleaning solutions are expensive.

Makes you more prone to eye infections if you are not careful.

Getting something in your eye is a problem, things tend to get stuck on the edge of the lens instead of being blinked out.

Losing one is a pain.
