  1. first off there is a large difference between coal and nuclear.

Coal is a carbon polluting and unrenewable form of energy.

Nuclear maybe unsustainable long term, although fast breader reactors create plutonium which can also be used for fuel.

Importantly though it does not release carbon during electricity production.

THEREFORE IF WE WANT TO TACKLE CLIMATE CHANGE NUCLEAR IS THE MOST TESTED AND RELIABLE alternative to producing electricity

  2. hello....myself kritika.

    ehn....

u wanted to know are coal and nuclear energy useful.....

yes they are very efficient in giving energy for water,electricty...etc..

but as you know these days .....they are producing a lot of pollution and the the environment is going bad to worse...

so ts better to use renewable sources such as solar energy, wind energy wich does not coz any harm...

best ov luck to you in future

  3. Coal in its natural state is a very dirty fuel. Getting it out of the ground is very demanding and degrades the area. There's a place in Pennsylvania that has been burning underground for many decades now...they had to completely abandon the entire town because all the houses were going up in smoke. Its a fire in an old abandoned mine that cannot be extinguished.

Nuclear has some advantages, but the absolutely worse by-product of nuclear energy is nuclear weapons proliferation. And we're not even talking about disposal of spent fuel which is a huge undertaking.

It all comes down to money and perceived costs....at some point in the future of this tiny planet, it will become imperative that the inhabitants live right on the edge of extinction and everything that is done could be the straw that broke the camel's back. This will mean using only fuels and energy that is not only clean, but creates zero emmissions and is sustainable...like Hydrogen.
