I'm about to enter my junior year and about to start my testing. I've heard that most schools do accept the ACTS but was wondering if they're a better test to take.

  1. If you know which schools you would like to apply to, and they only need the ACT, just do the ACT.  If they don't care as long as you send one or the other, do the ACT.  There is no point in paying to take both if you only have to take one.

  2. just to be safe take both

but SAT's are the standard and are usually the way to go.

you never hear anyone saying "oh i better not f-up the act's"

  3. SAT and ACT preparation links:

While the SAT and ACT are very different tests, they both fulfill the same role in the admissions process. The SAT and ACT are designed to provide college admissions officers with two things: a predictor of first-year academic achievement in college, and a common yardstick to use in comparing students from a wide range of educational backgrounds.
