  1. If you have a permanent green card (legal permanent residence), you can travel.  You need your passport from your own country and your green card.  If you are going to be out of the US for an extended period, you must get permission in advance.

As for visa requirements of other countries, it is your citizenship which determines your need for a visa.  Your resident status in the US is irrelevant as far as visa requirements of other countries.

  2. i agree with the first answerer about travelling.

you can work anywhere and everywhere or not even work.

you can receive unemployment and disability benefits.

  3. You can get a job. And yes you can travel, just don't leave home without it. However, it does not count as a valid I.D.

  4. Yes, you can travel. A green card is required if you want to live in the United States after your visa is up. Otherwise you are an illegal alien and may be deported at any time.

  5. You can travel outside of the U.S. more easily because the visa applications for most of the other countries will have much less requirements for green card holders.

You can work on any type of job, or not work, and still be legal.

You can open your own business.

You can enter the U.S. without any other visa.

  6. You can legally live and work in the US indefinitely unless you commit a deportable crime.

You can stay out of the US for up to a year, if you need to leave for more than a year but less than 2 years you need a re-entry permit.

You can petition for unmarried children and spouse
