  1. I've heard that oil is basically ancient dinosaurs.  I think it's pretty cool to think that when I step on the gas pedal, I'm running my car on dino-power.  Roar.

  2. There aren't many, that's for sure. One present advantage is that is is still fairly easy to produce because there are established oilfields all , over the place from the North Sea to Venezuela. On top of that the infrastructure used to produce and distribute it is already in place.

Alternative fuel sources such as 'bio-deisel' still rely on oil production to run transport, ethanol (from sugar cane) doesn't and neither does the highly explosive gas hydrogen that only requires oxygen to burn in (what's water made from?). Wind generators, wave power and solar energy are all more 'efficient' as the resources they rely on to produce energy are unlikely to run out as oil certainly will.

  3. None.  It is a limited resource, a pollutant and expensive to produce.  No positives that I can see.

  4. well,I guess it's efficent, but with the soaring price and the pollution concerns I'm no longer convinced that the good outways the bad
